Intro.
It has been a long 18 months for the world. A year where everything changed and our lives were turned upside down. A year where many of us sat down, reassessed, created new goals and now are beginning to work towards new dreams. Me being me, sitting back and riding out the pandemic was never going to happen. As the people around me know and have now experienced, no pandemic was going to get in my way. I went into the crisis wanting to change, grow and build. Now, I can look back and evaluate my achievements over the last two years and make a plan for the future. One that is on a new pathway or maybe an old pathway rediscovered.
Prior to the pandemic, 2019 was a year of major change for me (we will dissect that in a future blog) but in November of 2019 I moved with my soon to be fiancé to the USA. Big eyed and bushy tailed we had big dreams, but we would soon be brought back down to earth. The pandemic hit hard and many of our plans were thrown into chaos. We made the most of what we had, learnt everything we could (again much of, I will share in future posts) and are now ready to take on our dreams again in the new post COVID world.
Having spent the last ten years in artistic leadership, I bring to this blog ten years of stories, experiences and challenges. It has been a journey that has taken me across the world and has seen me do many amazing things. I have been told many times that “I live a crazy life”, always at full speed ahead and always looking for the next exciting new challenge. As I have gotten older, you would have thought my insatiable desire to achieve and create greatness would have slowed down. Fortunately, what is brewing inside of me grows like larva in a magma chamber, even a global pandemic couldn’t stop me.
I want to take you on a journey into my passion and desire. I wan’t to share my stories and bring you with me on the path that is still being laid in front of me. Launching my website, and now my blog, are the first steps to sharing these experiences and what is to come. I hope to share what I have learnt, provide in-site and maybe inspire others to follow my path. I have always tried to live life to the fullest in the most extreme ways and I hope that I can inspire that in others who follow me on this blog journey.
It won’t always be pretty, like any great journey the road is pitted with potholes. Some felt insurmountable at the time, some challenged my very being, but all made me what I am today. I don’t know where my ability to pick myself up, learn, grow and then move forward came from. Possibly something that my parents instilled in me, possibly something from my childhood or maybe it was always there. What ever it was, it was the most valuable skill I have had in my tool kit of life. I will write extensively in my blogs about this, but as a precursor to these, I share here what I truly believe in and my motto to live by.
Without adversity you can never have success! Every successfully thing I have done in my life has come out of challenges and adversity. Nothing is ever easy and the world often feels like it is against you, and sometimes it even is. If you can’t continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel then you will never find success? I believe that failure is important to life, without it, how would you know what success is?
I begin here with a little tease of what is to come. I welcome you to read on and learn more about me. Take what you like, disagree where you want, and reach out if you if you want to know more.
